In case you are wondering about us, we thought we would describe some of our qualifications.....
I have been "officially" involved in aviation since 1974. The unofficial part has to do with most of my childhood revolving around building model airplanes, including the Cox line control airplanes, and freeflight powered airplanes. In 1974 I joined the Air Force, and spent 4 years as an Avionics Technician on U-2, C-130, T-33, CH-3, and UH-1H aircraft. Since then, I have completed 6 airplanes including an RV-10, RV-6, RV-4, Prescott Pusher, and 2 Kitfoxes (Model II and Speedster), and have recently started an RV-7. I have been very instrumental in the completion of a number of other aircraft, including a T-18, F-1 Rocket, RV-6, RV-4, and a Kitfox Model 5. I have made a number of initial test flights on completed projects for others. I also hold the following FAA Certificates: A&P, Commercial Pilot ASMEL/Instrument, CFII/ASMEL, SIC rating CL-65.
My experience with Standard Category Airplanes includes owning a C-182, an S-35 Bonanza, and 2 Stearman's.
In early 2007 I was Designated by the Atlanta MIDO as a Designated Airworthiness Inspector for Experimental, Light Sport, and Expermental Light Sport Aircraft. I have authorization in 7 States (Georgia, Alabama, Missippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and parts of North Florida) for metal, tube & fabric, and composite aircraft. Since then I have inspected over 20 airplanes for their initial airworthiness. I find this very rewarding, and do my best to make it a enjoyable experience for the builder.
